spacer Fisherwick Presbyterian Church
Chlorine Gardens, Belfast

Context:
Fisherwick Presbyterian Church is a landmark building facing onto the Malone Road in Belfast. Built in 1898–1901 in the Gothic Revival style, this sandstone church features high vaulted ceilings and notable stained glass windows in its apse and west gable.

Specification:
More than 250 metres of linear and curvi-linear Cold Cathode Lighting (CCL) was concealed into the architectural structure of the building, including the sandstone arch and main truss support.

Solution:
Considerable care and sensitivity were required in order to preserve the architectural integrity of the building. CCL provides the primary source of lighting for the main church area. The fully dimmable system allows for high lumen output and extended lamp life. The lighting system was installed on reflective modular gear trays using AM Light’s “Plug and Play” system. This greatly reduced the installation time in order to meet the fast track renovation schedule. The resulting lighting scheme fully complements the distinctive architectural features of Fisherwick Presbyterian Church.
